Over the top of “OTT” is the term used for the delivery of film and television content via the internet, without requiring users to subscribe to a traditional satellite or cable provider. Sling & Hulu are among the most popular OTT providers, but there are many more. In contrast to cable or broadcast television because it’s delivered over the internet, OTT is unique in the ability to target households down to the zip code level. This targeting makes it much more desirable for companies with a defined service area and helps eliminate waste (ads shown to users outside your service area).
